Visualization of Noise Spectra

1998 - present

Algorithms for visualization of noise spectra are critically important for evaluation of halftone image quality. The challenge is to display magnitude and phase information so that their relative importance is taken into account and an intuitive visual assessment of the corresponding halftone image quality becomes possible. The task is nontrivial for both monochrome and color visualization, due to perceptual nonuniformity of color spaces and/or the need for tone scale adjustment.
